Seeing the suffering of the peace-loving people of Esteria, Adol decides to take a stand against the evil that hangs over the land. Thus begins the story of the famous series. The game is known for its unique style of combat - the hero literally rams his enemies. Once you have bought weapons and armour, be sure to wear them. In general, the first part of Ys is very dynamic and minimalistic, its passage will not take much time. The visuals are nice and the music deserves special praise. A more advanced version is available on the PC Engine CD.
