The first installment of Phantasy Star was released on the Mega Drive/Genesis as well. This is simply the Master System version on the Mega Drive cartridge, which included a hardware converter. The reasons for releasing this version remain unknown, but it is generally believed that it was a prize for contest winners.
The ROM is identical to the Master System version and must be run on the appropriate emulator.
