Settings can edit aspects of the level that are not in the background or sprites. To edit the level settings go to Level/Settings.
The settings are divided into 4 categories:
- Tileset: Settings relating to the tiles used for the background.
- Other: Miscellaneous level settings.
- Palette Fade: Used to fade the colors of the background. This is used in the original game to make the levels go from day to night.
- Bonuses: Sets which bonuses can be received on the level.
All settings have support for custom values. This should only be used by advanced hackers who have inserted their own data into the ROM. Click the radio button to change the type of a setting to custom. Settings in the form of $xx:xxxx are adresses, the others are numerical values.
Address types can be changed by clicking the arrow button next to the address. SNES LoROM is the address type used by the SNES itself. Hexidecimal is the address type used by modern computers. Hexidecimal addresses include the 512 byte header. Click Save as default to save that address type as the default. You will need to close and re-open the editor for this to take effect.
Click the cancel button to leave the level settings window without saving changes. Click the apply button to save the changes, but not exit the window. Click the OK button to leave the window and save changes.
