Splatterhouse - Wanpaku Graffiti
- • Genre: action
- • Players: 1
Have you ever seen Dracula dance? Have you not? How about a werewolf baby? No? You can meet them in this game. And not just them. It's a fun game with a touch of dark humour. You play as a masked guy with a butcher's axe who comes to life when lightning strikes his grave. His beloved is delighted, but here's the problem: an evil pumpkin rises from the grave next door (and is not buried in this cemetery) and kidnaps the girl. We go to the rescue, chopping up all sorts of undead with an axe (and on some levels you have a shotgun). The game has a surprising ending. So the game can be enjoyed by everyone, download and enjoy.

Star Wars (JVC)
- • Genre: action

"Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away..." The game is based on the good old film Star Wars Part IV (1977). The game combines several genres. You will have to wander around with a blaster in your hand, and ride a rover with an air cushion. The hero (Luke Skywalker) is very agile, can run, shoot, jump. Graphics and sound are at the top.

StarTropics
- • Genre: action-adventure
- • Players: 1
The game is a mix of several genres, there are even elements of logic. On some island Dr Jones is kidnapped only because he deciphered a part of an ancient manuscript and learnt some secret. His nephew is left as the only one who can help him. It's time to hit the road. Instead of a non-linear open world (like in Zelda) we now have a division into chapters with different locations. First you have to wander around the village and talk to people. Then you go down to the dungeon, where you solve various puzzles and fight with enemies with the help of your yo-yo - quite original weapon. The puzzles are the pearl of the game, you will remember them for a long time. And then there is a hard way through the cave - to the laboratory of Dr Jones.

Strider
- • Genre: action-adventure
- • Players: 1
A port of the Capcom arcade game to the NES. Play as Strider, a fighter using ninja techniques and futuristic technology, a member of a secret organisation. The community of Striders was created to maintain order on Earth, but the protagonist, Hiryu, has yet to find out whose interests the warriors are really serving. .... Technically, the game is a platformer, but a very unconventional one. Places can and should be visited more than once. As in Metroid, there are upgrades to be found in hidden places. The hero can be pumped to improve his characteristics, just like in RPGs. An interesting creation that is certainly worth evaluating.

Super C
- • Genre: run'n'gun
- • Players: 2 (coop)
The second part of the famous Contra series. Once again you will have to make your way through technogenic zones and forests, shooting at everything that moves, to save the world from an alien invasion. You can play together, which is even better, as enemies come from every corner and it's hard to escape on your own. From time to time, unidentified flying objects will appear, which you can shoot down to acquire more advanced weapons. And, of course, there is a boss at the end of each level! The game has relatively good graphics and sound.

Super Mario Bros.
- • Genre: platformer
- • Players: 2 (take turns)
The oldest game for the NES, but it's still fun! Mario sets out to rescue his princess who has been captured by a dragon, collecting coins along the way. He is opposed by walking mushrooms, flying turtles and ogre flowers. Enemies are killed by jumping on them. But that's not all. If you earn a prize, Mario can grow and learn to shoot. To get prize coins, you can try to climb up one of the pipes. The game has a 2-player mode, but you can only play in turns. The graphics are good, the sound is simple, but in this game it is not the main thing!
If you're bored with the usual Super Mario Bros., check out the hardcore hack "Frustration" and the Game Genie-enhanced ROM code IKAAAE, a code notable for making the game glitch unmercifully.

Super Mario Bros. 2
- • Genre: platformer
- • Players: 1
Mario is once again on a journey to the Far Far Away Lands. On the way, he has to pass through a variety of different places: fields, deserts, icy wastes and celestial distances. The hero can stand on the head of an enemy (almost any enemy), grab it and throw it at another enemy. You can also pull a turnip out of the ground and use it in the same way. Choose one of four characters, each with their own special moves. Luigi jumps high and far, but gets skidded around corners; Toad grabs and throws objects quickly, but is a poor jumper; Princess grabs slowly, but can fly forward through the air (a very useful ability); and Mario is simply the most balanced character. The game is single player, has good graphics and sound. The original game was Doki-Doki Panic, released only in Japan; Super Mario Bros 2 is an improved remake of it, replacing the main characters, some items and some music, and adding different effects and some enemies.

Super Mario Bros. 3
- • Genre: platformer
- • Players: 2 (take turns)
The creators of Super Mario Bros. were tasked with creating an incredible hit that would captivate gamers around the world and surpass previous instalments in the series in every way. They succeeded. Eight huge worlds, lots of different levels, a mountain of prizes, lots of interesting enemies, lots of secret locations, stunning scenery, addictive gameplay - all of this will keep you hooked. Each of the worlds has a map, and you have to choose levels by moving right on it. The mushroom and the flower are not the only ones - Mario can now wear animal costumes to fly, swim or fight. Prizes can be stored in a stockpile and retrieved when needed. On top of all this, SMB3 is packed with innovations. The first level allows two people to play Mario Bros. One of the best games on the NES.

A remake of the Sincliar game of the same name by the same developers (Codemasters). Improved graphics and sound, as well as refined gameplay. The graphics are beautiful, the music and colour palette are also pleasing. Compared to the licensed game Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves, this Codemasters creation is much more playable. It was most often accompanied by Quattro Adventure compilations. On other systems, the game is known as Robin Hood - Legend Quest.

Super Spy Hunter
- • Genre: shooter
- • Players: 1
A side-scrolling shooter with an overhead view. Most of the game is played from a car, which can be transformed into a boat or an aeroplane at the right moment. You must constantly drive at high speed and have time to shoot numerous enemies. Sometimes you have to jump over obstacles. Along the way, you can find power-ups by destroying special trucks. The complexity is very serious and the game requires a good reaction. It is worth filling up your health bar from the start, as it makes the game very easy. In Japan this game was known as Battle Formula.

Takahashi Meijin no Bouken-jima IV
- • Genre: action-adventure
- • Players: 1
The fourth part of Takahashi's (Higgins) adventures, released only in Japan, suddenly appears not as an adventure game (like the previous three), but as an adventure game. Now you can explore a huge island at your leisure, earning prizes in mini-games and changing the weapons in your inventory. As in Metroid, you must acquire a new ability to move on to the next location. You can also upgrade your hero's health, so he won't die on the first hit. And with all the items in your inventory, it will be much easier to rescue your kidnapped girlfriend.

The company Capcom, which creates games based on the famous Disney cartoon series, has not left Miracles on Turns unnoticed. Here we play as Baloo, or rather Baloo's plane, flying through the air in eight levels. The screen moves inexorably to the right, following you, but you can control it by turning the plane 'upside down' from time to time. The game is slow at first glance, but you need to pay attention - there are plenty of enemies in the levels and they won't let you get bored. You get a reward for each piece of luggage scattered around the level. The plane can be upgraded by buying parts from the shop. Sometimes you can play as Keith Windhorn - he appears in bonus levels. It's not a bad game, and you won't regret wasting your time on it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- • Genre: action
- • Players: 1
- • Year of release: 1989
- • Developer: Konami Industry Co. Ltd.
In 1989, when the Ninja Turtles were at the height of their popularity, Konami released the first game about the young mutants' adventures on the NES. It turned out to be a varied platformer. At the start of each level (except the last), the turtles explore the terrain from above. When you enter a building or open hatch, you play from the side. Scenery and enemy designs are inspired by the dark atmosphere of the original comic. The character can be selected from the pause menu during the game. Each member of the team has their own health bar, so you can swap one battered turtle for another, alive and awake, at any time. The difficulty is high due to the controls, character sluggishness and vicious enemies. But true turtle fans will not be put off by such inconveniences.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Tournament Fighters
- • Genre: fighting
- • Players: 2
The best fighting tournament on the NES. There are 7 characters: Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, street fighter Casey, dragon Hothead and the main villain Shredder. There is a story mode where you play as Turtle Fighter against his friends and Shredder, two player modes, games against the computer and a tournament mode where you can play whoever you want against whoever you want. Despite the small number of characters, the fighting is rewarding: the controls are responsive, the techniques are easy to execute, and the visual and sound effects are not bad.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - The Arcade Game
- • Genre: beat'em up
- • Players: 2 (coop)
The second instalment of Turtle Adventures comes straight from the arcade machine to the NES. Now you can play together. Choose your favourite turtle and hack away at Shredder's henchmen as you make your way towards him. The graphics from the first game have been greatly improved. Many moments from the famous 1987 cartoon about turtles have been transferred to the game. Short stories are inserted between levels. In addition to the usual blows, the heroes have special techniques, each of which is the same (pressing both buttons, with one of them a little earlier). Ninja Turtles 2 is fun to play and will stay with you for a long time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
- • Genre: beat'em up
- • Players: 2 (coop)
- • Year of release: 1991
- • Developer: Konami Co., Ltd.
Konami released this game specifically for the NES console. The 3rd part is basically similar to the second one, but it has a lot of improvements. The graphics have become even more beautiful, backgrounds, objects and enemies are drawn more clearly and in greater detail, and there is more interaction with turtle objects (for example, when the hero is flattened into a cake or covered in soot). Each of the characters has their own special techniques. You have to use them carefully - each super move will cost you one unit of health. The intriguing plot is presented in a cinematic style. A more than worthy sequel, a great game in the series.
