The game known as "Ninja Cats" was released based on a Japanese anime. The second part of the series has become much more varied: you can travel around the map of islands, find different bonus levels and rooms with prizes. The main innovation is the appearance of dinosaurs on which our hero can travel. Each lizard attacks in its own way: some spit fire, others hit with sparks. You can also leave the dinosaurs and weapons you have found at the end of each level in the "base" and call on them at the right moment. The gameplay itself is the same: run, destroy bad guys and eat a lot! The first thing to note is that the hero does not move around the map at random, everything depends on the egg you choose at the end of the previous level. If you choose the first one, you go up; if you choose the second one, you go up-left and so on, counter-clockwise.

The sequel to Hudson Soft's cult creation. The meaning of the game remains the same, but there is a new story. Bomberman has been framed and is now in prison. Naturally, our hero escapes and tries to restore justice. The game is divided into large levels, each with a unique arrangement of walls and enemies. The level is made up of 8 sublevels - rooms that we have to actively blow up. In the second Bomberman, you can not only play alone, but you can also have a three-player battle (if you have a device that can connect three gamepads). In Europe, this game is known as Dynablaster.

The second part of the series is signalled by the postscript The Revenge. In the year 19XX, after the nuclear war, violence began to reign in New York City. It was two brave boys, Billy and Jimmy Lee, who stood up to the criminals. But lo and behold, members of the Shadow Wars killed Marion, Billy's girlfriend. Knee kicks and uppercuts were introduced, as well as the famous leg twirl. The controls for the arm punch and leg kick depend on which way the character is facing. The Japanese version is simpler - it has eternal repeats, and the final locations are available on every difficulty level.

The Ninja Gaiden sequel introduces an exciting new storyline. An unknown person claiming to be Ryu Hayabusa kills CIA agent Irene. A shocked Ryu sets out to find the impostor. The game has improved in almost every way. The main character looks even more alive thanks to good animation and voice acting. The graphics have been reworked. Dynamic effects really brighten up the game. The gameplay is more varied - Ryu can now strengthen his sword and special weapons have been added. The original Japanese version is easier and more complete than the American one (password system + eternal continues). A worthy conclusion to the cult trilogy.

Based on the Disney animated film The Jungle Book, Virgin Entertainment (of Sega Genesis Aladdin and The Lion King fame) released several games on various platforms, not to mention the NES. Mowgli's 8-bit adventures were excellent. Except for the number of colours, but that doesn't spoil the game. Over 10 levels, Mowgli wanders through the jungle trying to reach the humans. The human cub runs, jumps on branches, clings to vines and crosses turbulent streams. On each level you usually need to collect 10-15 diamonds to progress. Time is limited, so you must hurry. Mowgli defeats enemies with bananas, throwing weapons and his own weight. The bosses here are almost all taken straight from the cartoon.

A sports game from the Nekketsu series by Technos. Crazy football game with crazy rules and Kunio-kun as the leader. Don't expect a serious game here. But you can count on excellent graphics, hilarious muzzling, humorous characters, and the wrath of the elements on the pitch (lightning can strike and electrocute anyone standing in a puddle; or the rising hurricane wind can suddenly lift several players into the sky). The ball can also be kicked through the goal, a player can be knocked down and the ball can be drowned, and that's not all. You can play on grass, mud and even ice. In addition to the standard arm and leg kicks, jump kicks (at the ball or at the opponent), there are also special techniques. Each character has their own super kick (this time only on the ball), which can take out the goalkeeper and tear up the net. Two players can play for the same team. Variations of the game include Nintendo World Cup, Nekketsu Koukou - Dodgeball Bu - Soccer Hen, Kunio Kun no Nekketsu Soccer League. Also known as Goal 3.

After the cult blockbuster starring Schwarzenegger as a killer robot, there had to be a game. Did it capture the atmosphere of the film? Probably not. Arnold's character is very small (the first boss is three or four heads taller than him), and he can be beaten with his fists by ordinary gopniks. Nor does the T-1000 inspire respect - he spends half the game running behind you like a tethered dog, attacking you to take a bit off you at a time. And riding a motorcycle can kill you in the blink of an eye. But despite the obvious shortcomings, the game has a lot going for it. Perfectly drawn images of the film's characters and cut-scenes, directly copied from the film, will please any fan of Terminator 2. The fact that the developers haven't forgotten the robot's oath "not to kill anyone" is also pleasing. A controversial, but all in all rewarding game.

The famous game from Namco. An all-time classic. Take control of Pacman - a round creature with a big mouth and a craving to eat everything. There are many dots scattered on each level of the screen and Pacman's task is to eat them all. Interfering with the hero will be strange ghost creatures, the number of four pieces. Normally, their touch is fatal for the character. But if Pacman swallows one of the big circles, he becomes invincible for a short time and can devour any enemy in an instant (but then the ghost will reappear). It's funny that the enemies are afraid of the unkillable Pacman and run away as fast as they can. Although the rules seem simple, the game is so unrealistically addictive that it's hard to tear yourself away.

The company Capcom, which creates games based on the famous Disney cartoon series, has not left Miracles on Turns unnoticed. Here we play as Baloo, or rather Baloo's plane, flying through the air in eight levels. The screen moves inexorably to the right, following you, but you can control it by turning the plane 'upside down' from time to time. The game is slow at first glance, but you need to pay attention - there are plenty of enemies in the levels and they won't let you get bored. You get a reward for each piece of luggage scattered around the level. The plane can be upgraded by buying parts from the shop. Sometimes you can play as Keith Windhorn - he appears in bonus levels. It's not a bad game, and you won't regret wasting your time on it.

The developers at Sunsoft didn't wait for the second Batman movie to be released to come up with a free sequel to the first one. The dastardly Joker has incredibly survived and, holed up on an island, continues to terrorise Gotham. This action game has a reputation for having some of the most advanced graphics on an 8-bit system. Oh, and the music is good too, with Sunsoft's trademark heavy bass and pervasive melodies. The gameplay is different from the first game: Batman doesn't fight with his fists, but fires his blaster at enemies in bursts and volleys. You can only roll in melee combat. There are four types of weapons to choose from, each with their own characteristics and super shots. In some levels you have to fly. This game is like a spectacular thrill ride, guaranteed to get you emotional.

A game about an ordinary Stone Age family. The hapless labourer Fred turns out to be a real hero when he rescues the pets Dino and Hoppy. The evil Dr Butler has come from the future, loaded the animals into a time machine and taken them away. We have to pick up the scattered pieces of the time machine, then travel to the future world and use the baton to teach the doctor reason. Colourful graphics skilfully recreate the bright, fun atmosphere of the animated series. By winning at basketball, you can gain useful skills. As well as the stick (which can be made more powerful), Fred can also pick up additional weapons: stone axes, a slingshot and an egg bomb. Abilities and extra weapons can be used for coins. The adventures of the Flintstones on NES are truly a success!

We might be worried about the lack of proper Ghostbusters games on the NES if Hal Laboratory, the company that released the Game Boy game of the same name, hadn't made our favourite console happy too. The game is played from a top-down perspective. You control a team of two hunters, one of whom is fully under your control and the other partially: he runs by himself and you give the order when to set the trap. The graphics in the game are clear, the structure of the levels - excellent. The music is also excellent. An interesting and entertaining game, as a perfect "hunter" should be...

A fun and addictive arcade game in which you take part in circus acts as Charlie the Clown. There are only five numbers, and as you progress through the levels, they repeat as in all such games. First, Charlie rides a trained lion and jumps through rings. Then he walks a tightrope and jumps over monkeys. The next act is a series of jumps from one inflatable ball to another. Then there's a horse ride with obstacles. And finally, the most difficult act of all - jumping on trapezes under the circus dome. In the arcade version, Charlie found his girlfriend after all the trials. There's nothing like that in the 8-bit version, but that's not a problem. In any case, this game is guaranteed to put you in a good mood.

Sometimes even the plumber can act as a doctor. The famous Mario, wearing a white coat, dashingly tosses multicoloured pills into the bottle of viruses. In fact, what we have here is a variation of Tetris in which you have to line up falling pills of 4 identical colours. The aim of the level is to destroy all the viruses. At all speeds except slow, a scene with viruses is displayed after every 5th level. And if you beat level 20 at high speed, you will be shown the final victory over the disease.

Mario is once again on a journey to the Far Far Away Lands. On the way, he has to pass through a variety of different places: fields, deserts, icy wastes and celestial distances. The hero can stand on the head of an enemy (almost any enemy), grab it and throw it at another enemy. You can also pull a turnip out of the ground and use it in the same way. Choose one of four characters, each with their own special moves. Luigi jumps high and far, but gets skidded around corners; Toad grabs and throws objects quickly, but is a poor jumper; Princess grabs slowly, but can fly forward through the air (a very useful ability); and Mario is simply the most balanced character. The game is single player, has good graphics and sound. The original game was Doki-Doki Panic, released only in Japan; Super Mario Bros 2 is an improved remake of it, replacing the main characters, some items and some music, and adding different effects and some enemies.

The third part is a prequel to the first two. Towards the end of the 15th century, Dracula reigns in Transylvania, spreading death and chaos. Only Ralph Belmondo can stop him. There are several ways to get there. Along the way, the hero will meet three other fighters against evil, one of whom he can take with him. The agile Grant (Clock Tower) can climb walls and throw knives, the skilful Sifa (White Cemetery) can kill monsters with magic, and the mysterious Alucard (Swamps) can fly around in the shape of a bat. The difficulty is high, but there are passwords. A more complete version in terms of gameplay, music and lack of censorship is the JAPAN version. Fortunately, an English translation is available. In the American version, there are new enemies in the second (optional) round.

A fairly well-known platform game. Good graphics and unpretentious music give the feeling of summer and sunshine. But you can't relax, there are enemies everywhere. As the brave saviour of your girlfriend, you make your way to the treasured goal. Our hero is in desperate need of food, and he also has an accelerated metabolism, so you need to eat all the fruit along the way. You will be given weapons in the levels, but unfortunately not everywhere. The difficulty is summed up in the saying: the further into the forest you go, the thicker the guerrillas get. From level to level, the monsters become more and more vicious, and after four rounds we have to face the main 'guerrilla', the fattest one - the boss. There are a lot of levels in the game, so you won't get bored.

Our protagonist is a ninja called Ryu Hayabusa. Having decided to find out the circumstances of his father's disappearance, he travels to America. Immediately, Ryu is attacked by unknown assailants, a mysterious girl shoots at him with a stun gun, a strange statuette appears in the hero's hands - a whole series of incredible events that the young ninja will have to go through. Young Hayabusa's main weapon is a sword. You can also obtain additional weapons (Shuriken, Firestream, Flame Ring Shield, etc.) from items found throughout the levels, which will come in handy against enemies and bosses. Ryu is an unrivalled ninja: he is a master swordsman, clings to walls and jumps very cleverly. The game is dynamic, the ninja literally beats enemies "on the fly". Although the difficulty is very high (you will often fall into the abyss), the exciting story and excellent gameplay will keep the player until the end of the game.
